It is finished!

It is finished!

~ The three most beautiful words ever uttered as the most loving act in all of human history was accomplished.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ will be celebrated this Sunday by Christians all over the world. But today is “Good Friday”…perhaps one of the single hardest event to write about. I am not usually one who’s at a loss for words, but when it comes to writing about my Savior’s death, I come up short. The week leading up to Good Friday is known as “Passion week”

“Passion is the degree of difficulty one is willing to endure to accomplish the goal.”

Louie Giglio

As I’ve read this week about my Beloved’s life and death in the gospel of John, the Lord has revived my heart to the glory and beauty of Himself. My Bible has tears all over it, as my gratitude has spilled over. When I truly reflect upon the cross in all it’s majesty, I cannot help but weep over my sin and be filled with praise in the fact that I have a Savior who loved me so much, He had to step into history and offer me Himself. Dear reader, I pray with everything in me, that your heart has not grown cold to the Gospel. We must reflect every day upon the Cross and the Savior who died there. The moment we stray away from the Cross, we are to be pitied above all, because it’s at the cross that we find Christ, and it’s in Christ that we find forgiveness, acceptance, righteousness, and everlasting life!

Beloved, I urge you to drop everything now and go to your Bible, meditate upon the death of Christ. Don’t rush. Feel the emotion, acknowledge the truth. Give the Lord freedom to wreck your heart, because in the darkest moment of history, Christ was crucified. He was viciously murdered by you and me. It was our sin that nailed Him upon that tree. When He  breathed His last breath and gave up His spirit, it was an act of love for you! Please don’t ever leave the Cross, allow it to radically alter your life. If you do not know Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, do not waste another breath before turning your life over to the One who loves you more than you can imagine.

Reflects on the words of this song!

Once and for all
Once and for all
You offered up Your life
For one and all
For one and all
The perfect sacrifice
Atoning blood was shed
Love conquered when You said…

It is finished
It is done
To the world salvation comes
Hallelujah, we’re alive!
Hell was silenced when You cried:
It is finished
It is finished

Who is this king
Who is this king
So mighty and so strong
He is the one
He is the one
The earth has waited for
God’s remedy for sin
With mercy for all men

Well the earth shook and trembled
The sun bowed it’s head
The veil of the temple was open for men
As Jesus went down in the cold of the grave
Defeated the darkness when He overcame
The keys of the Kingdom were placed into hands
Of children and priests and of fishers of men
Through all generations His voice will be heard
Creation resounds the victorious words!

It is finished
It is done
To the world salvation comes
Hallelujah, we’re alive!
Hell was silenced when you cried:
It is finished
It is done
Now completed, the work of Love
Hallelujah, He’s alive
Join the song of the ransomed Bride
It is finished
It is finished
It is finished!
